Group Fitness Classes

Feel Good, Look Good and Have Fun

Tired of sitting down all day at work? Do your body a favour and get your blood pumping. Health and fitness is as much about what your body looks like on the outside as it is about how it functions on the inside. Your heart is a muscle too, and my group fitness classes are guaranteed to get your heart-rate up. Your body will thank you for it!

Did you know that you are more likely to stick to your health and fitness routine if you attend group fitness sessions?  On average, those who work out alone attend the gym around 1-2 times per week and research has shown that those who attend group fitness classes and small group training sessions attend at least twice as much - so it really is a great way to stay on track!

Spinning (Indoor Cycling)

Indoor Cycling has been around for a few decades now and was first born out of the determination of cyclists to continue training when the weather was bad outside. However, recently Spinning has become a fitness phenomenon which is enjoyed by millions of people all over the world. 

My Spin classes are designed around HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) which was named one of the top fitness trends in 2019. HIIT sounds very scientific, but it’s really very simple. It’s comprised of short, hard bursts of maximal effort for anywhere from 10 seconds to 1 minute in length, followed by brief recovery periods.

My Spin classes are suitable for people of all ages and all abilities. Everyone is welcome.

 

Indoor Cycling is a great alternative for those who do not like to jog or run, or for those who have orthopaedic limitations to weight-bearing or high impact exercise. Some of the benefits of Spinning include:

  • Increased Cardiovascular Endurance

  • Increased Muscular Strength and Endurance

  • Increase in Lean Muscle Mass

  • Decrease in Body Fat

  • An Effective Weight Management Program (in conjunction with a healthy and well-balanced diet)

HIIT Step

HIIT Step is a NEW and innovative 30 minute HIIT exercise class using only bodyweight and a step. 

 

Using the principles of High Intensity Interval, Training, this class is choreographed to bespoke soundtracks created by some of the UK’s top House DJs. HIIT Step is a high energy class that pushes you to new limits.

This fat-blasting class has been developed using the expertise and experience from those that have competed for and worked with Team GB.

Move out of your “comfort” zone and into the “Anaerobic” zone. This class will help you achieve maximal fat burn and that all important boost to your metabolism for up to 24 hours after your workout. It's a great way to improve your cardiovascular fitness whilst having fun with friends.

BURN Core

Recently, there has been a surge in popularity for Weight Lifting, and there is a good reason for it! There’s no better way to develop strength, flexibility, and balance than through this method. The Burn Core class is a HIIT (high intensity interval training) session designed to specifically target your abdominals and all the core muscles.

 

With 3 different focuses including Strength, Endurance and Stability, my Burn Core sessions will keep your workouts fun and enjoyable. Every session will vary each week to keep things new and exciting.

 

I often like to incorporate Isometric Contractions into the class which involves tensing the muscles without ever actually moving them (for example: The Plank exercise). The main benefits of these types of exercises are increased muscle activation and strengthening in "sticky points" of movements, therefore allowing you to progress on to lifting heavier weights, whilst maintaining good form and preventing injury.
